Derrell Harwood 62, of Lubbock, passed away Dec.13, 2006. He was born to the late Floyd and Leoma Buchanan Harwood on July 2, 1944 in Winters, Tx. Derrell proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for the Lubbock Avalanche Journal as a printer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronnie Harwood. He is survived by his daughters Sherri Hart of Ham Lake, Minn. and Brandi Young of Tupelo, Miss.; one brother, Donald Harwood of Lubbock; 4 sisters, Sue Davis of Olton, Celia Ann Creek of Big Lake and Kay Lynn Turner of Duncan, Okla.; and 3 grand children. Graveside services with military honors will be held Dec. 16, 2006 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Tx.
